This is the pinnacle of the Calumet Farm Bourbon family, thus far, their most aged and highest proof expression. Each additional year in a center cut rack of their Kentucky rick house builds another layer of character, rewarding the patient with hypnotic depths of aroma and flavor. On the nose, oak and char give way with time to complex notes of dark fruit and sweet corn. In the mouth, bold oak meets aged spice and smoky, toffee sweetness. Named for the horse that brought Calumet Farms their first Triple Crown, plus a history making Grand Slam, “Whirlaway” is a testament to this estate’s winning spirit.
My husband and I were introduced to this product by two great friends, who love their bourbon. We all enjoyed! May or may not purchase again, but if it interests you, definitely worth a try.
