Jack Daniel's 14 Year Old is the oldest age stated whiskey the Lynchburg distillery has released in more than a century, and this is Batch 2, the 2026 release in the acclaimed Aged Series. It marks a meaningful moment for a brand that built its global reputation without age statements at all. Like every Jack Daniel's, it begins with the classic Tennessee whiskey mash bill of 80 percent corn, 12 percent malted barley and 8 percent rye, and it is mellowed drop by drop through 10 feet of sugar maple charcoal, the Lincoln County Process that defines the Tennessee whiskey style, before aging 14 long years in new American white oak barrels. Master Distiller Chris Fletcher has noted that the extreme heat of the top warehouse floors means older stock is moved to lower floors so the barrel does not overwhelm the spirit, preserving balance across more than a decade of maturation. This batch is bottled uncut at its natural barrel proof of 117.6, or 58.80 percent alcohol by volume, from batch number 002 marked on the label. Because it is a barrel proof, batch released whiskey, proof and character vary from batch to batch, and this bottle captures batch 2 exactly as it was dumped. It pours a deep mahogany and opens with delectable brown sugar, sweet charred oak, melted caramel, gentle baking spices, molasses and a note of maraschino cherry. The palate is rich and balanced, layering brown sugar, black peppercorn spice, burnt caramel, cinnamon cookie, aged oak, spiced cherry and tobacco leaf. The finish is long, dry and peppery with charred oak, toasted brown sugar, rye spice and a touch of leather. A limited annual release with strong collector appeal, it is best enjoyed neat, given a few minutes to open, with an optional drop of water.
