Chivas Regal has been blending Scotch whisky since 1801, and every expression in the portfolio from the 12 Year Old to the 18 Year Gold Signature is a blended Scotch, combining malt and grain whiskies. Ultis is different. It is the first blended malt whisky Chivas has ever released: a blend built exclusively from malt whiskies, with no grain whisky in the mix. That distinction matters. Blended malt Scotch occupies a rare category between single malt and standard blended Scotch, offering a complexity and body that standard blends rarely achieve while remaining more approachable than most single malts.
Ultis was created by Master Blender Sandy Hyslop as a tribute to the five generations of Chivas master blenders who came before him. The five single malts he chose each represent one of those blenders' distilleries. Strathisla is the heart of the blend, as it has always been at the core of Chivas Regal, delivering malty, fruity character with a subtle sweetness. Longmorn adds creamy vanilla toffee. Tormore brings rich citrus and orange notes. Allt-a'Bhainne contributes spice and balance. Braeval rounds everything with complex floral notes, thick honey, and leather. All five are from Speyside and all are distilled exclusively in copper pot stills. Less than 1% of Chivas Brothers' entire whisky inventory was selected for this blend, with each cask individually hand-selected and nosed. Comes in an individually numbered bottle presented in the distinctive teal gift box.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Commanding and rich with ripe peach and soft red apples, laced with cinnamon, fudge, and honey. The five Speyside malts weave together into an aroma that is both fruit forward and warmly spiced.
Palate: Smooth vanilla texture brimming with clementine and apricots. Full bodied with Strathisla's malty sweetness at the core, Longmorn's creamy toffee, and Tormore's citrus brightness. Soft caramel, spicy cloves, and ginger develop on the mid palate.
Finish: Long and warming with heather, oak, and a satisfying malt character that lingers with a flash of salinity on the close.
FAQ
What is blended malt Scotch and how is Ultis different from regular Chivas Regal?
Standard Chivas Regal (12 Year, 18 Year) is blended Scotch, a combination of malt and grain whiskies from multiple distilleries. Blended malt Scotch like Ultis uses only malt whiskies with no grain, blended from multiple distilleries. This gives it fuller body, richer texture, and more complexity than a standard blend while remaining more accessible than a single malt. Ultis is Chivas Brothers' only blended malt expression and draws from five of their most prized Speyside single malts.
What are the five malts in Chivas Regal Ultis?
Strathisla is the heart of Chivas Regal since the beginning, with malty fruity character and subtle sweetness. Longmorn contributes creamy vanilla toffee. Tormore brings rich citrus and orange notes. Allt-a'Bhainne adds spice and balance. Braeval rounds everything out with complex florals, thick honey, and leather. All five distilleries are in Speyside and all distill exclusively in copper pot stills.
