Buzzard's Roost Double Oak Cigar Blend Bourbon is the 2026 edition of one of the Louisville distillery's most anticipated limited releases, created to pair with a fine cigar while standing comfortably on its own. Buzzard's Roost is an independent, woman led distiller, blender and bottler based on Louisville's historic Whiskey Row, known for its double oak approach to maturation, built around seventeen proprietary toast profiles, each designed to draw specific flavours from the wood. For this release, a high rye bourbon mash with 36% rye and 4% malted barley spent seven years in new charred oak before being moved into the brand's lightly charred, heavily toasted barrels for a secondary maturation. Heavy toasting caramelises the sugars in the wood, layering deep sweetness and spice over the bourbon without the harshness of a heavy char. Bottled at 105 proof, it has the weight to stand up to a full bodied cigar and enough character to sip on its own. It builds on the profile of the earlier Cigar Blend while offering a new taste through fresh barrel selection. Expect charred and toasted oak, burnt sugar and warm baking spice, with hints of leather and tobacco leaf. Enjoy it neat or with a single large cube, ideally beside a slow burning cigar or a crackling fire.
