TINCUP 10 Year is the aged expression in the TINCUP lineup, launched in 2017 as a follow up to the brand's flagship Original. Unlike the Original, which blends MGP high rye bourbon with a splash of Stranahan's Colorado single malt, TINCUP 10 is straight high rye bourbon with nothing added but Rocky Mountain water for proofing. The base is built on the same MGP Indiana mash bill of 64% corn, 32% rye, and 4% malted barley, but where the Original is composed of four to five year old whiskey, TINCUP 10 is matured for a full ten years in new char number three American white oak barrels. The result is a deeper, more developed bourbon with greater oak influence, richer color, and added complexity from the extended maturation. Cut to bottling proof with pure Rocky Mountain water at the Denver facility and bottled at an elevation of 5,251 feet, this is the premium tier of the TINCUP family, complete with the brand's signature six sided embossed bottle and tin cup cap that doubles as a shot vessel.

Color: Dark amber with rich copper depth, noticeably deeper than the Original.
Nose: Aged oak and vanilla lead, layered with caramel, baking spice, honeyed orange, fresh leather, cinnamon, pine, and a touch of freshly cut grass. A nice blend of sweet and earthy notes.
Palate: Sweet pepper, leather, and dried raisins anchor the palate, with a hint of marzipan, almond paste, and pie crust building through the mid palate. Light bodied yet flavorful, with the rye component giving meaningful spice.
Finish: Smooth and lingering with caramel, biscuit, and gentle oak. A pleasant, drier oak note carries the finish out with a final whisper of spice.
How is TINCUP 10 Year different from the original TINCUP?
Two key differences: TINCUP 10 is straight high rye bourbon with no Stranahan's single malt blend, while the Original includes a small splash of Colorado single malt. TINCUP 10 is also aged a full ten years versus the four to five year base of the Original, giving it deeper oak character, richer color, and more developed flavor. Both share the same 64/32/4 mash bill and 84 proof.
Is TINCUP 10 Year a bourbon?
Technically yes. TINCUP 10 meets the federal standard for straight bourbon whiskey, with nothing added but Rocky Mountain water for proofing. The brand markets it as American Whiskey to maintain consistent identity with the rest of the TINCUP family, though it would qualify for a Kentucky Straight Bourbon label if produced in Kentucky.
How does TINCUP 10 compare to other 10 year bourbons?
TINCUP 10 sits in the same age range as Eagle Rare 10 Year, Russell's Reserve 10, and Henry McKenna 10 Single Barrel, but at a softer 84 proof versus their 90 to 100 proof formats. The lower proof makes it noticeably lighter and easier sipping, ideal for drinkers who want age statement complexity without the heat.
