Maestro Dobel Diamante holds a unique distinction in the world of tequila: it is the world's first Cristalino — the expression that invented and defined an entirely new category of Mexican spirit. Created by Juan-Domingo Beckmann Legorreta (whose initials give Dobel its name), a sixth-generation leader of the Casa Cuervo family, Diamante answered a question no producer had asked before: what would happen if you took a sophisticated multi-age blend of Extra Añejo, Añejo, and Reposado tequilas and filtered them to crystal clarity, removing color while preserving flavor?
The process is proprietary and genuinely innovative. The three aged expressions are first blended, then double-filtered — removing the color compounds and most congeners while retaining the complexity, depth, and smoothness developed in new Balkan white oak barrels. The result is a tequila that looks like a blanco but drinks like the multi-aged premium spirit it actually is. 100% Blue Weber Agave from a single estate in the Lowlands of Jalisco. Double distilled, Kosher certified, 40% ABV (80 proof). The Cristalino style Diamante pioneered has since been adopted across the industry — but this is still the original.

Color: Crystal clear — looks like a blanco, drinks like an aged blend
Nose: Mild oak and buttery caramel lead with honey, vanilla, cinnamon, and almond. Soft fruit — guava, prickly pear, and citrus zest — appears in the background alongside a gentle touch of white pepper.
Palate: Silky and smooth — caramel, honey, and maple surface first, followed by chewy agave, vanilla cream, and baking spice. Subtle oak from the Balkan barrels adds structure without dominance. Citrus brightness and prickly pear come through in the mid palate.
Finish: Clean, crisp, and lingering — vanilla, a hint of coffee bean and papaya, and gentle oak warmth fade slowly.
What is a Cristalino?
A Cristalino is an aged tequila that has been filtered to remove its color while preserving the flavor complexity developed during barrel aging. Maestro Dobel Diamante invented this style — no Cristalino existed before it. The category has since exploded across the industry, with dozens of brands now producing their own versions, but Diamante is the original. The filtration process removes most congeners and color compounds without stripping the caramel, oak, and vanilla character built during aging.
How is Diamante different from a blanco?
A blanco is unaged or very briefly aged. Diamante begins as a multi-age blend of Reposado, Añejo, and Extra Añejo tequilas — meaning it contains spirits aged from a few months up to several years — before filtration removes the visual evidence of that aging. The clarity is cosmetic; the depth of flavor is genuine aged tequila character.
