Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch C919 is the third and final 2019 release of Heaven Hill's celebrated tri annual barrel proof series, bottled at a fierce 136.8 proof and aged a full 12 years. The batch code decodes as C (third release of the year), 9 (September), 19 (2019). At 68.4% ABV it was the highest proof ECBP release in several years and remains one of the most distinctive entries in the lineup, known for its unusually sweet and fruit forward profile. Bottled uncut and non chill filtered straight from the barrel at Heaven Hill's Bernheim Distillery in Louisville. Long discontinued from active production and a target for collectors and ECBP completists.

How does the C919 batch code work? Heaven Hill encodes ECBP releases with a letter and three digits. The first letter (A, B, or C) marks which of the year's three releases the batch was. The next digit is the month of release. The last two digits are the year. C919 = third release of 2019, September 2019.
Why is C919 considered special? At 136.8 proof, C919 was the highest proof ECBP release in several years at the time of its launch. Reviewers consistently note its unusually sweet, fruit forward profile, less rickhouse heavy than typical ECBP releases. It scored A- on Drinkhacker and 94 points on The Barrel Cellar.
How does it compare to standard Elijah Craig Small Batch? The standard Small Batch is bottled at 94 proof and uses younger barrels. ECBP C919 is uncut barrel strength at 136.8 proof from 12 year old stock, delivering far more concentration, intensity, and complexity. Add a few drops of water to open it up.
