Dewar's White Label is the original flagship blended Scotch whisky from John Dewar & Sons, founded in Perth, Scotland in 1846 by John Dewar himself. First created in 1899 by Dewar's legendary master blender A.J. Cameron, White Label is the foundation of the Dewar's portfolio and the world's most awarded blended Scotch with over 900 medals to its name. The blend draws on around 40 single malt and grain whiskies from across Scotland, with the heart of the malt component coming from Aberfeldy Distillery in Perthshire, which the Dewar family built in 1896 specifically to anchor the house style. Each whisky is matured in oak casks before being skillfully blended together by master blender Stephanie Macleod, after which the finished blend is returned to oak casks for an additional period of secondary maturation, the signature Dewar's "double aging" technique that gives the whisky its hallmark roundness and silky character. Bottled at 40% ABV and 80 proof, the result is a beautifully smooth, honeyed, and approachable Scotch that has been a staple house pour from Hong Kong to Hollywood for over a century. The default Scotch in the United States and an essential building block for any back bar.

FAQ
What does double aged mean?
After Dewar's blends its various malt and grain whiskies together, the finished blend is placed back into oak casks for an additional period of secondary maturation. This marrying allows the components to harmonize and produces the rounded, silky house style that has earned Dewar's its reputation as the world's most awarded blended Scotch with over 900 medals.
What is Dewar's White Label good for?
White Label is one of the most versatile Scotch whiskies you can buy. It works neat, on the rocks, in a Highball with soda, or as the Scotch base in classic cocktails like the Rusty Nail, Rob Roy, or Penicillin. It is also the default house Scotch in countless American bars thanks to its smooth, balanced profile and approachable price.
How does White Label compare to Dewar's 12 Year?
White Label is the flagship NAS blend that draws on younger components and serves as the everyday house pour. Dewar's 12 Year sits at the start of the premium tier, with all components aged a minimum of 12 years and a noticeably richer, fruitier, more complex profile. Both share the same Aberfeldy heart malt and double aging process, but the 12 Year is meant for sipping while White Label flexes equally well in cocktails.
