If Casamigos Blanco is patience in distillation — 72-hour brick oven roasting, 80-hour fermentation — then the Añejo is patience taken one step further. After the same meticulous process that defines the entire Casamigos lineup, the Añejo rests for 14 months in premium American white oak barrels. Not the industry minimum of 12 months. Fourteen. That extra time, applied to agave that was already distilled more carefully than most tequilas on the market, is what transforms Casamigos Añejo into something that occupies its own space between tequila and aged spirits whisky drinkers will recognise.
The result is a rich, deep caramel color and a spirit that delivers the best of both worlds: the natural sweetness and agave character of Jalisco Highlands Blue Weber agave, fully integrated with the vanilla, toffee, and warm spice that only time in American oak can produce. Complex enough to sip neat in a Glencairn, smooth enough to elevate any cocktail it's poured into. Casamigos Añejo is what happens when a tequila brand refuses to rush.

Color: Rich deep caramel — the 14 months of oak aging is visible immediately
Nose: Beautifully pure and refined — soft caramel, vanilla, toffee, and sweet agave with subtle spice underneath
Palate: Perfectly balanced between agave sweetness and oak complexity — dark chocolate, roasted agave, vanilla custard, black pepper, and warm barrel spice in elegant harmony
Finish: Long, smooth, and lingering — creamy oak and gentle pepper fade slowly, leaving a clean and satisfying warmth
How is Casamigos Añejo different from the Blanco and Reposado?
All three expressions use the same 72-hour roasting and 80-hour fermentation process. The Blanco rests 2 months in stainless steel — pure, unaged agave character. The Reposado rests 7 months in American oak — a bridge between fresh agave and oak influence. The Añejo rests 14 months in American oak, the longest of the three, producing the richest, most complex expression with the deepest caramel and vanilla notes from the barrel.
Can Casamigos Añejo be used in cocktails?
Yes — it makes an exceptional Añejo Old Fashioned or elevated Margarita where the caramel and vanilla notes add real depth. It's also outstanding neat or on a single large cube, where its full oak character can be appreciated without dilution. For sipping tequila drinkers who also enjoy aged whisky, this is the crossover expression.
