After two editions shaped by Willy Chavarria, the series passes to Patricio Campillo, a Mexico City born designer representing a newer generation carrying Mexican fashion onto the global stage. His concept for this release is the Marigold Bridge, drawn from the cempasúchil, the marigold whose scent and colour are traditionally believed to guide returning spirits home during the holiday. That flower runs across the whole presentation, in vivid orange and gold blooms wrapping the bottle and echoed on the black collector box, alongside a side profile figure and skull inspired floral work. Inside is Don Julio 70 Cristalino Añejo, which the house introduced as the world's first clear añejo and which remains the reference point for the category. It is built from 100 percent Blue Weber agave grown in the Highlands of Jalisco, aged eighteen months in American white oak barrels, then charcoal filtered to strip the colour while leaving the maturation intact. What that delivers is unusual: the vanilla, caramel and toasted oak depth of a properly aged añejo arriving in something that looks and drinks with the brightness of a blanco.
