Blanton's was introduced in 1984 by Buffalo Trace master distiller Elmer T. Lee and named in honour of Colonel Albert B. Blanton, the distillery's longtime leader, who once set aside whiskey from select barrels for ambassadors, dignitaries, family and friends. Every bottle is drawn from one individual barrel, never blended with any other, and the barrels are hand selected from the centre cut sections of Warehouse H, the only metal clad warehouse at Buffalo Trace. The bourbon is distilled from the high rye Mash Bill #2 and bottled at 93 proof. The full size bottle is hand labelled with the barrel's dump date, barrel number, warehouse and rick, and topped with one of eight collectible horse and jockey stoppers, each showing a stage of a race and a letter from the Blanton's name. The miniature is a perfect taster to share, keep as a keepsake, or add to a collection. Expect creamy vanilla, caramel and butterscotch over clove, nutmeg and cinnamon, a sweet palate with citrus and oak, and a smooth, lingering finish. Enjoy it neat or on the rocks.

ABV / Proof

ABV

46.5%

Proof

93

Size

750ml + 50ml

Country

United States

Region

Kentucky

Type

Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Single Barrel

Distillery

Buffalo Trace Distillery, Frankfort, Kentucky

Producer

Sazerac Company

Mashbill

Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #2 (high rye)

Warehouse

Warehouse H

Includes

Blanton's The Original Single Barrel 750ml; Blanton's Miniature 50ml

Tasting Notes

Color: Deep amber.

Nose: Creamy vanilla with caramel and butterscotch over clove, nutmeg and cinnamon.

Palate: Sweet, with citrus, caramel and oak.

Finish: Smooth and lingering, with gentle spice.

FAQ

What is included in this bundle?

One Blanton's The Original Single Barrel 750ml and one Blanton's 50ml miniature.

Are both bottles the same size?

No. This bundle contains one full size 750ml bottle and one 50ml miniature.

What proof is Blanton's Original?

It is bottled at 93 proof, or 46.5% ABV.

Is every bottle different?

Yes.
